Air New Zealand Sucks

I'm writing this from the domestic terminal in Wellington. I got here 3 hours early for my peak hour flight hoping to get on an earlier one. First of all they said no problem, then they said if I wanted to catch an earlier flight it would cost me another fare of $239! Of course the peak flight I was scheduled for will be full and they could have sold that seat easy and put me in a half empty flight, but no that's against policy.

Just this year I have flown domestically half a dozen times and I have been to the US and back as well, all with Air New Zealand. Virgin has just arrived in New Zealand and Air New Zealand is going to be appealing to me for my continued loyalty, well guess what, I'm going to go out of my way when I have a choice, to fly with anyone other than Air New Zealand in future. Instead of being able to sell an extra ticket, they will lose nout on thousands of dollars from me.

That was a good move on their part wasn't it? Of course I am also going to tell anyone who will listen about how shabbily they treat their frequent flyers. Do you think another airline would like my business?

they'll all want your business... what's unknown is if you'll be treated better

Re: airlines- I was on a business trip and took a direct flight from San Francisco to Toronto and Air Canada lost my luggage! A direct fligh mind you! I was in Toronto for business for 3 days and then had to go to Montreal for 2 days. Had to go out and buy a lot of stuff....!

If you want a flexible ticket, then pay for it.

All airline tickets are like that, unless you pay extra.
