I did not spend much time on North Island but spent three weeks on South Island. What a phenomenal place! Is S.I. more 'rural' than the North Island? Used to like the Bats and they were playing the Dux Deluxe last night there but we opted for Australia vs. S. Africa tn the Tri-nations... if memory serves. Absolute great curry in Dunedin called Indian Summer.
